Remember When Tim Tebow Evangelized Sports Reporters? Plus There’s More to John 3:16 Story
Not too long ago, former NFL quarterback and “Night to Shine” (TTF) founder Tim Tebow held court about his faith in Jesus during post-game press sessions.
In his short-lived run with the Denver Broncos, Tebow’s press room and locker room appearances before the media were often chances for Tebow to school reporters on the gospel of the Bible and even share his personal testimony. He did it with flair, kindness, and most definitely help from the Holy Spirit.
Although there are many in the professional athlete arena who publicly talk about their faith, I don’t know of anyone else who did it so seamlessly and naturally. Reporters would be rifting their string of mostly typical questions and Tebow would do his best to connect on a personal level.
Perhaps that’s why God had different plans for Tebow besides a longer stint in the NFL (the talent argument is old and tired).
This morning, “Tebow” was trending on Twitter.
FOX College Football asked, “Who’s the best college football player to wear No. 15?” and that’s what appears to have sparked the Tebow tweet fest.

This brings me to what I really wanted to share: Tebow’s John 3:16 story.
As ABOVE INSPIRATION posts on its video, “John 3:16 may be the best-known verse in the Bible, but it’s also the subject of an amazing story told by Heisman Trophy winner and professional athlete Tim Tebow.”
During the 2009 college football national championship, University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow painted “John 3:16″ under his eyes. As a result, some 94 million people Googled the verse.
